| What is Oregon Meth Watch? | ||||||||||||||||
The Oregon Meth Watch Program ("Meth Watch") is modeled after a similar program used successfully in Kansas. Meth Watch has several goals:
Through Meth Watch, retailers who sell many of the products and supplies used to make meth are encouraged to "tag" the shelves and display the Meth Watch logo (see below). The products used to make meth are common, every day items with entirely legal purposes. But in combination, they can be deadly and should arouse suspicion. |

Meth Watch tags alert and educate customers on the wide variety of products used to make meth, and more importantly, they deter meth "cooks" and addicts from purchasing or stealing large quantities of these products at participating stores. Some of the products used to manufacture meth include cold tablets, iodine, paint thinner, battery acid, drano, "Heet", epsom salts, anhydrous amonia. For a complete list of products and supplies used in the manufacture of meth click on the link - Meth Products and Supplies. In addition to shelf tags, participating stores will feature door and window decals with the Meth Watch logo, tear-off sheets and information brochures at checkout stands, and posters for store employees. |
